My current employer is a Rails-based application and I work with a team of other engineers (front end, back end & QA) and designers to optimize the UI and increase engagement.View the site.
Pup-Ups is a Rails App I continue to maintain and work on in my free time. It is a fun project that allows me to play around with rails concepts and infastructure while looking at puppy pictures.View the site.

I have been in the Chicago area for a number of years working as a developer at various digital companies. I am currently working at OneMain as a UI engineer with a full team of engineers and designers.
Prior to starting my career, I attended the University of Wisconsin — Eau Claire, where I graduated with a BA emphasizing graphic design. During my last year of school, I interned in Madison WI, with a local designer, Matt Schaser, working with clients on both print and web projects.
When I started working at OneMain, my duties were to implement front end changes on the site as well as work with the the design and product owners to create tests and review their results to improve the site metrics. After more than a year working with Ruby on Rails, I now work with the back end team implementing feature changes, and writing my own controllers and methods.
At Walker Sands, my primary task was to implement all frontend development for the agency’s B2B technology clients, primarily working in their in house CMS. While there, I also introduced WordPress as an alternative solution for smaller clients. I also started to introduce UX concepts to the team, specifically collecting user stories and then creating wireframes and storyboards.
As a member of the development team at TravelClick, I worked to convert designs to websites based on the internal CMS. Additionally, I managed the customer care queue, working with the support team to address bugs, issues and change requests.
Working with the marketing team at Guidance, we created product collateral such as quick start guides, product briefs, and a variety of labels and similar items to aid end users in their understanding and use of the products.
